   HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. – The LSU Beach Volleyball team finished the MPSF conference tournament 2-2 beating (10) San Jose State and (9) Oregon, but eventually fell to No.11 (6) GCU in the elimination match on day two of the tournament.
   “It’s not the way we wanted the tournament to end, but I am proud of how our team fought all week,” said head coach Russell Brock. “To come up just short in that last match was tough. This has been a season where we have been improving so much all season long and just ran out of time down the stretch.”

   The Sandy Tigs started the morning off with a 3-0 sweep against (9) Oregon. Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason got things started for the Tigers by dominating on Court 2; 21-10 and 21-14, while Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin followed suit on Court 1; 21-11 and 21-17. With LSU only needing one more point to secure the dual, Bella Lagemann and Zayna Meyer won in straight sets on Court 4; 21-17 and 21-18.

   Later in the morning, LSU battled it out against the No.11 (6) GCU Lopes, but fell 1-3, eliminating the Tigers from the MPSF conference tournament. Martin and Finlason got things started early for the Tigers on Court 2; 23-21 and 21-15, while Emily Hellmuth and Kate Baker fell in straight sets on Court 5; 19-21 and 17-21. Meyer and Lagemann fell on Court 4 to give GCU their second point; 14-21 and 17-21, while Molly LaBreche and Aubrey O’Gorman fell in close sets on Court 3; 19-21 and 19-21.

   HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF.--The No. 13 (7) LSU Beach Volleyball team went 1-1 on the first day of the MPSF Conference Tournament, beating #10 seeded San Jose State.
   
​   The Sandy Tigs will play against #9 seeded Oregon on Wednesday at 11 AM CT.

   LSU started out the day with a 3-1 win against (10) San Jose State. Emily Hellmuth and Kate Baker fell in straight sets on Court 5; 19-21 and 16-21, while Aubrey O’Gorman and Molly LaBreche secured the Tigers first point on Court 3; 21-17 and 21-11. Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin battled to three sets winning; 21-10, 18-21 and 15-9, while Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin secured the dual on Court 2; 20-22, 21-13 and 15-7.

   After a break, the Tigers fell to No.1 (2) UCLA. Sprecher and McGatlin fell first on Court 1; 12-21 and 13-21, while Martin and Finlason also fell on Court 2; 12-21 and 21-23. O’Gorman and LaBreche fell on Court 3 giving the Bruins the clinching point; 19-21 and 11-21.

   CLEARWATER BEACH, FLA. – The No. 13 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 3-1 at the Gulf Front Invitational in Clearwater Beach, Fla., defeating Mercer, USF and FGCU. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road this week, April 22-24, for the MPSF Conference Championship in Huntington Beach, Calif.
   
​   “There is no denying that we made progress this weekend,” said head coach Russell Brock. “The wins we earned were really important as we make our final push for the post season. I’m proud of the way we battled in the matches we won. There’s a really quick turnaround for our next trip. That requires that we reset and refocus for our biggest weekend of the season so far. Looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

   LSU started the day with a matchup against FGCU, with the Tigers sweeping 5-0. The match started with a point secured by Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason on Court 2; 21-17 and 21-12, while Bella Lagemann and Zayna Meyer secured the second point of the dual on Court 4; 17-21, 21-12 and 15-11. The second wave of matches started with Molly LaBreche and Aubrey O’Gorman getting a straight set win on Court 3; 21-15 and 21-17. Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin also won in straight sets to give the Tigers their fourth point on Court 1; 21-15 and 21-16, while Kate Baker and Emily Hellmuth finished the sweep on Court 5; 24-22 and 21-13.

   In the evening, the Sandy Tigs faced the No. 5 FSU Seminoles falling 0-5. Martin and Finlason fell on Court 2; 13-21 and 16-21, while Meyer and Lagemann also fell in straight sets on Court 4; 21-23 and 13-21. The second wave of matches started  with Baker and Hellmuth falling on Court 5; 15-21 and 13-21, while Sprecher and McGatlin fell in straight sets on Court 1; 16-21 and 10-21. O’Gorman and LaBreche finished out the match falling on Court 3; 14-21 and 11-21.

   CLEARWATER BEACH, FLA. –The No. 13 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 2-0 on Friday against Mercer and USF.
   The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to finish out the weekend on Saturday, starting at 8:00 AM CT against FGCU, followed by a 11:45 AM CT match against No. 5 Florida State. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road the following week for the MPSF Conference Championship in Huntington Beach, Calif.

   LSU started out the day with a dominate 5-0 sweep against Mercer. Tatum Finlason and Sylar Martin got things started for the Tigers with a straight-set win on Court 2; 21-13 and 21-16, while Zayna Meyer and Ryan Lambert followed suit on Court 4; 21-11 and 21-12. The second wave of matches started with Kate Baker and Emily Hellmuth clinching the dual on Court 5; 21-4 and 21-12. Wins continued for the Sandy Tigs with Aubrey O’Gorman and Molly LaBreche dominating on Court 3; 21-14 and 21-11, while Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin closed out the sweep on Court 1; 21-9 and 21-8.

   After a short break, the Tigers continued sweeping the USF Bulls. Finlason and Martin got things started again for LSU on Court 2; 21-16 and 21-5. O’Gorman and LaBreche secured the Tigers second point on Court 3; 21-9 and 21-16, while Baker and Hellmuth continued to dominate on Court 5; 21-19 and 21-16. USF had to medically forfeit on Court 1 giving the Tigers their fourth point. Bella Lagemann and Meyer finished out the sweep on Court 4 in a three-set battle; 21-15, 19-21 and 17-15.

   BATON ROUGE – The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 4-0 at the Battle on the Bayou at LSU Beach Volleyball facility, defeating Central Arkansas, Texas A&M- Corpus Christi, Texas A&M- Kingsville. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road next weekend, April 17-18, for the Gulf Front Invitational in Clearwater Beach.
   
​   “This was a really good weekend for our team,” said head coach Russell Brock. “It’s always wonderful to play at home, and to be able to get four great wins and honor our amazing seniors made it as good as it could possibly be. Grateful for all the fans who came out to support us this weekend. Really proud of how we played.”

   LSU started the day with a sweep against Texas A&M- Kingsville. The match started with a point secured by Emily Hellmuth and Gracey Campbell on Court 5; 21-15 and 21-12, while Amaya Messier and Kate Baker secured the second point of the dual on Court 4; 21-19 and 23-21. The second wave of matches started with Bella Lagemann and Aubrey O’Gorman dominating on Court 3 to secure the dual; 21-13 and 21-16. Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin were rolling full steam ahead on Court 2; 21-12 and 21-11, while Kenzey McGatlin and Julia Sprecher battled to three sets on Court 1 and came out on top to complete the sweep; 19-21, 21-15 and 15-12.

   After a break, the Sandy Tigs faced Southeastern Louisiana winning 4-1. Zayna Meyer and Baker got things started for LSU with a straight set win on Court 5; 21-14, 21-13, while Hellmuth and Lagemann fell on Court 4; 21-15, 19-21 and 14-16. The dual was tied 1-1 going into the second wave of matches. Molly LaBreche and O’Gorman dominated on Court 3 to give the Tigers their second point of the match; 21-14 and 21-12, while Finlason and Martin won in straight sets on Court 2; 21-14 and 21-11. Sprecher and McGatlin secured the Tigers fourth point on Court 1; 21-14 and 21-18.

   BATON ROUGE –The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 2-0 on Friday against Central Arkansas and Texas A&M- Corpus Christi.
   The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to finish out the weekend on Saturday, starting at 10:30 AM CT against Texas A&M- Kingsville, followed by a 4:45 PM CT match Southeastern Louisiana. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road the following weekend at the Gulf Front Invitational in Clearwater Beach.

   LSU started out the day with a 5-0 sweep against Central Arkansas. Zayna Meyer and Kate Baker won in straight sets; 22-20 and 21-11; while Emily Hellmuth and Bella Lagemann secured the Tigers second point on Court 4; 21-16, 21-16. Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin clinched the dual for the Tigers on Court 2; 21-12 and 21-14. Julia Specher and Kenzey McGatlin dominated on Court 1; 21-13 and 21-17; while Aubrey O’Goman and Molly LaBreche battled to three sets securing the sweep; 21-14, 20-22 and 15-9.

   After a short break, the Tigers swept the Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Islanders. Lagemann and Hellmuth got us started on Court 4 with a three-set win; 25-23, 20-22 and 15-13; while Baker and Meyer battled to three sets on Court 5; 22-24, 22-20 and 19-17. O’Gorman and LaBreche started the second wave of matches dominating Court 3; 21-10 and 21-8; while Martin and Finlason secured another straight set win on Court 2; 21-15, 21-6. Sprecher and McGatlin secured the sweep on Court 1; 21-16 and 21-16.

   AUSTIN, TEXAS – The No.12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 0-4 at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Sandy Tigs are on a bye next weekend and will continue play at home April 10-11 for the Battle on the Bayou Invitational.
   
​   “This weekend didn’t finish how we hoped,” said head coach Russell Brock. “There were moments where we played some of our best ball of the year, but we just weren’t able to sustain that excellence.”

   LSU started the day with a matchup against No.10 Long Beach State, with the Tigers falling 2-3. The match started with a point secured by Emily Hellmuth and Kate Baker on Court 4; 22-20 and 21-15, while Zayna Meyer and Forbes Hall gave Beach their first point of the dual on Court 5; 21-19, 14-21 and 14-16. The second wave of matches started with Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin falling on Court 1; 18-21 and 13-21. Aubrey O’Gorman and Bella Lagemann battled in three sets to tie the dual 2-2 on Court 3; 21-9, 19-21 and 16-14, while Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin fell on Court 2; 17-21 and 19-21.

   After a break, the Sandy Tigs faced No. 3 USC, falling 0-5. Gracey Campbell and Ryan Lambert fell in straight sets on Court 4; 18-21 and 23-25, while Baker and Hellmuth fell on Court 5 in a battle to three; 19-21, 21-19 and 13-15. The second wave of matches started with O’Gorman and Lagemann falling on Court 3 to give the Trojans the dual; 8-21 and 16-21, while Sprecher and McGatlin also fell in straight sets on Court 1; 14-21 and 14-21. Martin and Finlason lost in straight sets 12-21 and 14-21.

   “When you play the very top teams in the county, there’s just not any wiggle room for inconsistencies. We had a real chat about the next few weeks that are left in the season and know that we still have a great chance to finish how we want. Looking forward to the time we must train over the next few weeks and really excited about our last home competition before we head back out to California for our conference championship tournament”

   AUSTIN, TEXAS –The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 0-2 on Friday against No. 2 Stanford and No. 1 UCLA.
   
​   The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to finish out the weekend on Saturday, starting at 10 AM CT against No. 10 Long Beach, followed by a 12:30 PM CT match against No. 3 USC.

   LSU started out the day with a 1-4 loss against No. 2 Stanford. Zayna Meyer and Bella Lagemann fell on Court 4; 16-21 and 13-21, while Emily Hellmuth and Kate Baker gave the Longhorns their second point in a battle to three sets on Court 5; 12-21, 21-19 and 15-9. Ryan Lambert and Aubrey O’Gorman fell on Court 3 to give Texas the match; 10-21 and 16-21. Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason won in straight sets on Court 2; 22-20 and 21-18, while Julia Specher and Kenzey McGatlin fell on Court 1; 25-27 and 12-21.

   To finish the night, the Tigers fell to No. 1 UCLA, 0-5. In the first wave of matches, Hellmuth and Baker fell in straight sets on Court 5; 17-21 and 12-21, while Lambert and Meyer gave the Bruins their second point; 15-21 and 12-21. Finlason and Martin started the second wave off with straight set losses on Court 2; 13-21 and 7-21. Lagemann and O’Gorman fought in three sets but eventually fell giving UCLA another point on Court 3; 17-21, 21-18 and 13-15, while Sprecher and McGatlin fell Court 1; 16-21, 21-18 and 15-8.

   BATON ROUGE – The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 2-2 at the Death Volley Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., defeating Boise State and No. 10 Arizona State. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road next weekend for the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.

   “Really impressed with how we came out and played today,” said head coach Russell Brock. “There were plenty of challenges and distractions and we absolutely stood up and overcame them.  We’ve been playing really well, but not really been able to get over the hump in our big matchups. That changed today. I don’t ever feel like we aren’t the best team in the sand and today our team played with that mentality. Really proud of the response to a tough first day. It’s always incredible to play at home and this weekend was no different. Best beach volleyball facility in the world!”

   LSU started the day on fire with a matchup against the Boise State Broncos, with the Tigers winning 4-1. The first wave of matches started with a point secured by Emily Hellmuth and Kate Baker on Court 5; 21-19 and 26-24, while Ryan Lambert and Zayna Meyer gained another Tiger point on Court 4; 20-22, 21-14 and 15-12. The second wave of matches started with Aubrey O’Gorman and Camryn Chatellier having to mediacally forfeit Court 3 during the second set after going up 1-0; 21-19, 7-10. Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin got things done in straight sets on Court 1 to secure the dual for the Sandy Tigs; 21-18 and 21-16, while Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin gave the Tigers their fourth and final point on Court 2; 22-20 and 21-12.

   To finish out the weekend, the Sandy Tigs upset No. 10 Arizona State in an absolute battle, winning 3-2. Hellmuth and Baker got things started for LSU with a straight set win on Court 5; 21-18 and 21-12, while Bella Lagemann and Meyer put the Tigers up 2-0 in the dual on Court 4; 21-18 and 21-18. The second wave of matches started with Lambert and O’Gorman falling on Court 3 to give the Sundevils their first point of the match; 18-21 and 17-21, while Sprecher and McGatlin also fell in straight sets on Court 1; 14-21 and 19-21. With one court left to finish play, everyone rushed over to cheer on Court 2. Martin and Finlason battled to three sets and secured the Tigers the winning point; 19-21, 21-14 and 15-12.

   BATON ROUGE –The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 0-2 on Friday against No.4 Texas and No. 16 GCU.
   The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to finish out the weekend on Saturday, starting at 11:45 AM CT against Boise State, followed by a 4:45 PM CT match against No. 8 Arizona State. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road the following weekend at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.

   LSU started out the day with a 0-5 loss against No. 4 Texas. Zayna Meyer and Ryan Lambert battled hard to three sets, but fell on Court 5; 16-21, 21-13 and 6-15, while Emily Hellmuth and Bella Lagemann gave the Longhorns their second point on Court; 11-21 and 19-21. Camryn Chatellier and Aubrey O’Gorman fell on Court 3 to give Texas the match; 17-21, 21-14 and 11-15. Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason fell in straight sets on Court 2; 17-21 and 16-21, while Julia Specher and Kenzey McGatlin battled to three sets, but fell on Court 1; 18-21, 21-18 and 9-15.

   To finish the night, the Tigers fell to the No. 16 Grand Canyon Lopes, 2-3. In the first wave of matches, Hellmuth and Lagemann fell in three sets on Court 5; 15-21, 18-21 and 10-15, while Lambert and Meyer secured the Tigers first point on Court 5; 21-17 and 21-18. Chatellier and O’Gorman started the second wave off with straight set losses on Court 3; 17-21 and 16-21. Martin and Finlason fought in three sets but eventually fell giving the Lopes the match; 23-21, 20-22 and 13-15, while Sprecher and McGatlin secured the Tigers second point on Court 1; 18-21, 23-21 and 15-13.

   MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIF. – The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 1-3 at the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach, Calif., defeating No. 13 Hawai’I. The Sandy Tigs are back at home next weekend for the Death Volley Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
   
​   “This weekend was another weekend of growth,” said head coach Russell Brock. “Sometimes growth comes when we are exposed in new ways, sometimes growth happens when we overcome challenges and succeed. This weekend we experienced both. There is no denying that we belong in the sand with the very best teams in the country. There is also no denying that we are getting better every day we compete. I’m looking forward to getting back to work this weekend and prepping for another huge weekend at home. We have so much left to accomplish and are getting more and more capable every day.”

   LSU started the day with a matchup against the LMU Lions, with the Tigers falling 0-5. The match started with a point dropped by Camryn Chatellier and Aubrey O’Gorman on Court 4; 19-21, 21-17 and 15-10, while Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin gave the Lions their second point of the dual on Court 2; 17-21, 21-17 and 13-15. The second wave of matches started with Bella Lagemann and Emily Hellmuth falling on Court 3 to give the LMU their clinching point; 16-21 and 13-21. Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin fell in straight sets on Court 1; 18-21 and 19-21, while Kate Baker and Zayna Meyer fell on Court 5; 25-27 and 17-21

   In a double header, the Sandy Tigs faced No. 13 Hawai’i in an absolute battle, winning 3-2. The dual was tied 1-1 going into the second wave of matches.    LSU started out the day with a 2-3 loss against No. 10 California. Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason started things off hot and secured the Tigers their first point on Court 2; 21-18 and 22-20. Camryn Chatellier and Aubrey O’Gorman also won in straight sets on Court 4 securing the Tigers second point; 21-12 and 21-17. Julia Specher and Kenzey McGatlin fell on Court 1; 18-21 and 17-2, while Kate Bake and Zayna Meyer fought hard on Court 5, losing; 18-21, 23-21 and 12-15. Bella Lagemann and Emily Hellmuth battled to three sets on Court 5 but eventually fell to give California the match; 19-21, 21-19 and 11-15.

   After a short break, the Tigers fell to the No. 1 UCLA Bruins, 0-5. Starting us off, Martin and Finlason fell in straight sets on Court 2; 18-21 and 19-21, while Gracey Campbell and O’Gorman also fell on Court 4; 21-13 and 14-21. The next wave of matches started with Hellmuth and Lagemann falling in straight sets on Court 3; 21-14 and 21-8. Zayna Meyer and Bella Lagemann fell on Court 4; 17-21and 13-21, while Skylar Martin and Tatum Finlason secured the Tigers first point on Court 2 to tie the match at one; 24-22, 16-21 and 15-10. Camryn Chatellier and Aubrey O’Gorman fell on Court 3 giving the Cardinals their second point; 18-21 and 21-23. Kate Baker and Emily Hellmuth battled to three sets on Court 5 but eventually fell to give Stanford the match; 22-20, 21-9 and 9-15, while Julia Specher and Kenzey McGatlin secured the Sandy Tigs their second and final point on Court 1; 23-21, 19-21 and 16-14.

   After a short break, the Tigers fell to the No. 10 California Bears, 1-4. Starting us off, Martin and Finlason fell in straight sets on Court 2; 18-21 and 17-21, while Meyer and Baker also fell on Court 4; 25-27 and 19-21. The next wave of matches was all three set battles between the Tigers and Bears. Hellmuth and Lagemann fought in three sets on Court 5 winning; 19-21, 21-12 and 15-12.    BATON ROUGE – The No. 12 LSU Beach Volleyball team went 4-1 at the Tiger Beach Challenge in Baton Rouge defeating Southern Miss, Houston Christian, North Alabama and UL-Monroe. The Sandy Tigs are back on the road for the next two weekends competing in the MPSF Coast to Coast Classic and East Meets West Invitational.
   
​   “This weekend was an important event for our progress as a program,” said head coach Russell Brock. “We had a lot of really strong performances and some incredible growth. The task ahead of us this week is to take all the experience we gained and things we learned and put them into our training to prepare for our next trip. We have a great season ahead of us and can’t wait to keep getting better.”

   LSU started the day with a matchup against No. 18 Washington. The match started with a point secured by Bella Lagemann and Zayna Meyer on Court 4; 21-18, 13-21 and 15-10, while Kate Baker and Emily Hellmuth fell on Court 5; 21-13 and 18-21. The second wave of matches started with Camryn Chatellier and Aubrey O’Gorman falling on Court 3; 18-21 and 20-22. Julia Sprecher and Kenzey McGatlin battled to three sets but eventually fell to give the Washington Huskies the match on Court 1; 18-21, 21-17 and 7-15, while Tatum Finlason and Skylar Martin fell on Court 2; 26-28, 21-17 and 15-6.

   After a break, the Sandy Tigs faced UL-Monroe and finished the weekend with a 5-0 sweep over the Warhawks. Baker and Hellmuth got things started for LSU with a straight set win on Court 5; 21-16 and 21-14. Meyer and Lagemann followed in their footsteps, winning in three sets on Court 4; 21-23, 21-19 and 15-10. O’Gorman and Chatellier won Court 3 to clinch the win for the Tigers; 21-11 and 21-14. Finlason and Martin gave the Tigers another point on Court 2; 21-4 and 21-15, while McGatlin and Sprecher secured a victory on Court 1 to round out the match; 21-18 and 21-18.

O’Gorman and Baker started the Tigers off with a win on Court 4; 21-18 and 21-18, while Ryan Lambert made her debut with Lagemann on Court 3 winning; 22-20 and 21-10, to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the dual. McGatlin and Sprecher clinched on Court 1; 21-17 and 21-15, while Finlason and Martin also won on Court 2; 21-17 and 21-13. Meyer and Chatellier captured a sweep for the Tigers on Court 3; 21-18 and 21-16.

   To finish the day, the Tigers swept the North Alabama Lions, 5-0. Starting us off, Emily Hellmuth and Baker won in straight sets on Court 5; 21-11, 21-13.
