Da Boot Sports 4/26/2025 LSU Sports Communications By: LSU Staff BATON ROUGE – The LSU Beach Volleyball team fell to No. 8 FSU Saturday morning in the CCSA Championships Semi-Final match, 3-0. “Really proud of our group,” said head coach Russell Brock. “We’ve come so far this season. From our first weekend until now, the growth is phenomenal. Obviously, we would have preferred to finish this weekend with a win, but that didn’t happen. We battled in every match and just couldn’t quite come up with the points we needed to pull off the team wins.” The Sandy Tigs faced off in a hard-fought match against FSU but ultimately fell short. Tatum Finlason and Kate Baker fell on Court 4; 12-21 and 16-21, while Aubrey O’Gorman and Camryn Chatellier fell on Court 2; 17-21 and 17-21. Elle Evers and Julia Sprecher fell on Court 3 to finish out the match; 19-21 and 15-21. Due to matches being played to decision, Gabi Bailey and Parker Bracken on Court 1, along with Emily Meyer and Skylar Martin on Court 5, did not complete their matches. With their performance throughout the CCSA Conference Tournament, Meyer and Martin have earned a spot on the CCSA All-Tournament team. LSU faced FSU in round one of the conference tournament. The pair won Court 5 in straight sets; 24-22 and 21-15. In round 2 the Sandy Tigs faced South Carolina. Meyer and Martin won Court 5; 21-19 and 21-19. FSU 3, LSU 0

Da Boot Sports 4/20/2025 LSU Sports Communications By: LSU Staff BATON ROUGE-- For the first time in program history, the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium will be the host of the CCSA Conference Championships, April 25-26. The CCSA is comprised of LSU, Texas, FSU, and South Carolina.“When we designed the stadium, we had the thought of hosting regional and national events,” said head coach Russell Brock. “We always planned to host big championships like this. It’s exciting to finally get that opportunity and we know that it will be a fantastic venue for a great tournament.” The tournament will follow a double elimination structure, with the championship game being held Saturday, April 26th, at 1 PM CT. A more in-depth bracket will be released Monday, April 21st, prior to the start of the tournament, with the seedings of the schools and specific game times. The CCSA Conference Championships will be streamed for free on Volleyball World’s VBTV. Volleyball World is a partnership between FIVB and CVC Capital Partners, established to drive growth, innovation, and investment in volleyball globally. Its goal is to create an integrated ecosystem connecting fans, athletes, and corporate partners through both digital and live events. The Sandy Tigs are back in Baton Rouge, April 25-26, to host the CCSA Conference Championship. LSU will host No. 7 Florida State, No. 8 Texas and South Carolina. “I’m really impressed with our team this weekend,” said head coach Russell Brock. “I’m really proud of how we defended our home sand and how we grew tighter as a group. Honoring our seniors by playing well and celebrating who they are as people is a cornerstone of each season that we play. Coming out with four wins was necessary this weekend.” LSU began the day with a hard-fought match that ended in a Sandy Tigs win, 3-2. Skylar Martin and Emily Meyer started the Sandy Tigs off falling short on Court 4; 18-21 and 17-21, while Kate Baker and Tatum Finlason battled in three sets to win Court 5; 18-21, 22-20 and 18-16, to tie the match 1-1. On Court 1, 1,Gabi Bailey and Parker Bracken got off to a hot start, winning; 21-14 and 21-19, while Aubrey O’Gorman and Julia Sprecher continued the success and clinched the dual on Court 3; 21-16 and 21-15. Elle Evers and Camryn Chatellier fell short on Court 2; 13-21 and 13-21, to finish the match 3-2. After a break, LSU faced New Orleans and defeated the Privateers 5-0 in a Tiger-dominant match. Finlason and Baker took care of business on Court 5; 21-8 and 21-12, while Evers and Sprecher won Court 3; 21-9 and 21-8, to have the dual score 2-0. Chatellier and O’Gorman dominated and clinched the match on Court 2; 21-16 and 21-13, while Martin and Meyer won Court 4; 21-17 and 21-14, to bring the Sandy Tigs to 4-0. Bailey and Bracken concluded senior day with a win on Court 1; 21-9 and 21-18. “I couldn’t be more pleased at the work we did during the regular season and I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead as we gear up for the conference championship in the national championship event in Gulf Shores. These next two weeks will be a great opportunity to build and grow,” said Brock. “We have made progress every week this year as we’ve improved and the season has progressed. The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to close out the regular season on Saturday, starting at 10:30 AM CT against Tulane, followed by a 4:45 PM CT match against New Orleans. The Sandy Tigs are off next weekend in preparation for the CCSA Conference Championship being hosted at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. LSU started out the day with a 5-0 sweep win against Houston Christian. Skylar Martin and Emily Meyer took Court 4; 21-15 and 21-18, while Kate Baker and Tatum Finlason got the Tigers their second point on Court 5; 21-16 and 21-16. Aubrey O’Gorman and Julia Sprecher clinched the match on Court 3; 21-18 and 21-15, while Elle Evers and Camryn Chatellier finished on Court 2; 21-19 and 21-16, to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead. After going into extra points in the first set, Gabi Bailey and Parker Bracken finished the match, winning Court 1; 22-20 and 21-10. After a break, the Sandy Tigs faced the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders and won the match, 4-1. Baker and Finlason won on Court 5; 21-17 and 21-16, while Meyer and Martin won on Court 4; 21-16 and 21-15, to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the dual. O’Gorman and Sprecher clinched the dual on Court 3; 21-13 and 21-12, to give the Sandy Tigs the win. Bailey and Bracken put up another point for LSU, winning Court 1; 21-18 and 23-21. The Sandy Tigs will compete in two matches to close out the weekend on Saturday, starting at 9:15 AM CT against No. 8 Texas and then against South Carolina at 11:45 AM CT. The Sandy Tigs are back at home next weekend, April 11-12, for the final regular season tournament for the 2025 season. ‘Today was a long day with strong competition,” said head coach Russell Brock. “I’m proud of how we played as a team. There were plenty of distractions heading into today and the team did a really good job of blocking out the challenges off the court and playing really solid volleyball. We did what we needed to do today to keep moving forward and building our resume. Two more big matches tomorrow are waiting for us. I’m looking forward to seeing how we respond after a long, hot day today.’ LSU started out the day with a 4-1 win over South Florida. Due to South Florida not being eligible to compete for a national championship in 2025, the game is considered an exhibition match and does not count towards LSU’s record. Aubrey O’Gorman and Julia Sprecher got things started for the Sandy Tigs, winning Court 3; 21-14 and 21-11. Emily Meyer and Skylar Martin followed in their footsteps, winning Court 5 in dominant fashion; 21-15 and 21-13. Evers and Chatellier fell on Court 2; 22-20 and 22-20, to even up the match at one point apiece. O’Gorman and Sprecher took the lead back for the Tigers, winning Court 3; 27-25 and 21-17. Meyer and Martin battled it out in three sets on Court 5 to clinch the match for the Sandy Tigs; 21-10, 19-21, and 15-12. Bailey and Bracken fell on Court 1; 22-20, 19-21 and 21-15, to give the FAU Owls their second point of the match. For the final match of the day, LSU faced No. 5 FSU in an AVCA Top 10 matchup and fell just short against the Seminoles. Meyer and Martin took care of business to have LSU strike first, winning Court 5; 21-17 and 21-13. Evers and Chatellier fell on Court 2; 21-18 and 21-11, while Bailey and Bracken fell on Court 1; 21-12 and 21-15, to give FSU a 2-1 lead. O’Gorman and Sprecher battled on Court 3 to tie up the match at two points apiece; 21-18, 16-21, and 15-13.
