 Photo By: Athlon Sports Da Boot Sports 4/11/2025 By: Terrill J. Weil AUBURN, AL - The Tigers fell to Auburn on The Plains on Friday night, 8-4 in game one of their three game SEC series. Kade Anderson (6-1) took the bump for the purple & gold Bengal Tigers and had a tough night. He pitched 4.1 innings, giving up six runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out six. It was Anderson’s first loss of the season. Auburn got on the score board in the bottom of the second, plating two runs to take a 2-0 advantage as we headed to the third inning. It began to rain hard in the fourth inning, but the game played on. Kade Anderson got into trouble in the fifth, as Auburn loaded the bases with only one out. Ike Irish hit a triple off of the center field wall, clearing the bases. Cooper Williams replaced Anderson on the bump, hoping to get LSU back into the dugout with no more damage done. Cooper McMurray singled to bring Irish home. The Tigers finally got out the inning, but found themselves now trailing, 6-0. The home team Tigers plated another run in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to 7-0. LSU finally got on the score board. Hernandez started things being hit by a pitch with one out. John Pearson and Chris Stanfield drew back to back walks to load the bases. Derek Curiel grounded out to score Hernandez. Jared Jones then doubled to right center to plate two more runs. The game moved to the bottom of the frame with Auburn up, 7-3. Auburn plated a run the the bottom of the seventh. Back to back doubles in the top of the ninth with two outs by Stanfield and Curiel cut the Auburn lead to 8-4. LSU falls to 31-4 overall and 10-3 in SEC play.
