Da Boot Sports 3/18/2025 By: Terrill J. Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - The Tigers played host to UNO at the Box on Tuesday night and defeated the Privateers, 11-1 to extend their winning streak to 16 games. UNO took an early lead in the top of the first. LSU starting pitcher Jaden Noot started the contest issuing a leadoff walk, then back to back singles to help the Privateers plate a run. Noot would strikeout the next three UNO batters out to send LSU to the dugout with UNO leading, 1-0. In the bottom of the opening frame, Jared Jones tied the game with a swing of his bat, hitting a one out homer over the center field wall. The Tigers would load the bases with two outs, but would strand them as we headed tot the second inning even at 1-1. For the second inning in a row, the Tigers would load the sacks with two outs. Josh Pearson drew a base on balls to bring in a run. The one run was all LSU could generate, leaving the bases loaded. The game moved to the third with the Tigers up, 2-1. Jake Brown led off the bottom of the third with a double down the left field line. Cade Arrambide then launched a two run blast over the left field wall. Tanner Reaves reached base with a single. Two outs later, Jones singled to right field, scoring Reaves from first. Jones would steal second before Daniel Dickinson walked. Josh Pearson singled to score Jones. The third inning would come to an end with LSU leading, 6-1. After a Jared Jones single and a walk by Dickinson, Ethan Frey smashed a three run homer over the right field wall. The game headed to the sixth with LSU now ahead, 9-1. In the bottom of the sixth, Derek Curiel doubled to right field, then Jones doubled down the left field line to score Curiel. We headed to the seventh with the Bayou Bengals leading, 10-1. With the ten run-rule in effect, Ethan Frey ended the game with a leadoff home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh. 11-1 Victory for LSU! Jaden Noot (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. He pitched four innings, giving up one run on four hit. He walked one and struck out five. LSU is now 21-1 overall.
