 Photo By: LSUsports.net Da Boot Sports 4/5/2025 By: Terrill J. Weil NORMAN, OK - LSU defeated Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, 3-2 to sweep the Sooners on the road. Chase Shores (5-1) got the start for LSU on Saturday and had a strong outing, pitching five innings. He gave up one run on three hits, walked four while striking out four. The Tigers got things going in the top of the second inning. Steven Milam led off with a base on balls. Jake Brown then reached first base safely on a fielder’s choice before Luis Hernandez reached on a fielder’s choice. Tanner Reaves walked to put runners on first and second with one out. Chris Stanfield drew a walk to load the bases. Derek Curiel reached first base safely on a error by the second baseman. The error was costly for the Sooners as it allowed Hernandez and Reaves to score. We headed to the bottom of the frame with LSU leading, 2-0. Oklahoma answered with a run in the bottom of the second. 2-1 Tigers. The Tigers plated another run in the fourth. Hernandez hit a leadoff double down the left field line. Reaves grounded out, moving Hernandez to third. Stanfield reached first safely on a fielder’s choice, as Hernandez was thrown out at the plate. Derek Curiel stepped to the plate and knocked a double to left field, scoring the speedy Stanfield. The contest moved on to the bottom of the fourth with the Bayou Bengals now leading, 3-1. Zac Cowan replaced Shores to start the sixth inning and did an amazing job on the mound, earning his fourth save of the season. With the victory LSU is now, 30-3 overall and 10-2 in SEC play.
