Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - The Tigers bounced back from their disappointing weekend series against Oklahoma with a nice mid-week 15-5 victory over the Bulldogs of La Tech. Reagan Ricken started on the bump for LSU and didn't make it out of the first inning. Giving up two runs on one hit and two walks. LSU went to the bullpen often on Tuesday night, using eight different arms in the contest. Ethan Plog (2-0) got the win while Santiago Garcia earned his second save of the season. Louisiana Tech jumped on top early. In the top of the first inning. A walk, a single and an error, lead to two runs for Tech. Ethan Plog entered the contest and quickly got the final out. We headed to the bottom of the first with Louisiana Tech on top, 2-0. LSU answered in the bottom of the frame. Chris Stanfield started it off with a lead off walk. Jake Brown reached safely on a throwing error. Stanfield advanced to second on the play. Omar Serna the flied out. Derek Curiel grounded out to move the runners to second and third. John Pearson came up with a timely hit, smashing a single to center field to plate two runs to tie the game. We moved to the second inning all even at 2-2. Steven Milam led off the bottom of the second with a lead off single to left field. After Zach Yorke flied out, Trent Caraway doubled to the left field corner, moving Milam to third base. Stanfield went down on strikes. Brown then singled to left field, bringing Milam and Caraway home. Brown advanced to second on a wild pitch. Serna reached safely on a fielding error. Brown was able to score on the play. Curiel was issued a base on balls. Pearson was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs. Mason Braun walked to bring another run home. A wild pitch allowed Curiel to come home. Milam would go down on strikes to leave runners on second and third. But as the second inning came to an end, LSU now led, 7-2. Zach Yorke led off the bottom of the fifth with a monster solo homer to right center field. After back to back ground outs, Brown was hit by a pitch. Serna singled. Curiel then doubled to left field, scoring Brown and advancing Serna to third base. Pearson walked to load the bases, but the Tigers would leave the sacks full. We headed to the sixth with LSU now up, 9-2. The Bulldogs were able to plate a run in the top of the sixth. Moving to the bottom of the frame, LSU now led, 9-3. Louisiana Tech refused to quit, as they were able to push two more runs across home plate in the top of the eighth, cutting the LSU lead to, 9-5. LSU answered in the bottom of the eighth. Braun was issued a one out walk. Milam singled to the short stop. Yorke stepped to the plate and blasted a three run homer over the right center wall. Caraway singled, then moved to second base on a wild pitch. Brown was hit by a pitch. Brown and Caraway were able to move up a base on another wild pitch. Serna then singled to left field to bring Brown and Caraway home. Curiel doubled to bring Serna home to end the ball game via the ten run-rule. LSU improves to 17-9. Next up, the Kentucky Wildcats come to the box for a SEC series.
