By: Terrill J. Weil Da Boot Sports! Ex-LSU quarterback Peter Parrish is once again playing for the Tigers. But this time it's in Memphis. Parrish made the announced Thursday that he’s transferring to Memphis after entering the NCAA transfer portal earlier this week. He was a four-star member of LSU’s 2019 recruiting class. Parrish was the leader of Central-Phenix City’s 2018 state championship team. He threw for 2,920 yards and ran for an additional 1,320 yards during his final two high school seasons. As a senior, Parrish helped Central-Phenix City post its first undefeated season since 1944 and was named the MVP of the team’s state title game win over Thompson. Last season Parrish saw no game action for the Tigers and was redshirt tagged. Parrish was suspended from LSU earlier this offseason for violating team rules. and ended up being removed from the team’s official roster in July. 8/8/2020
By: Terrill J. Weil Da Boot Sports! Senior LSU defensive lineman Neil Farrell, has opted out of the 2020 season due to health concerns with coronavirus reported by Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger. Farrell's family has apparently been personally affected by COVID-19. He plans to sit out the season with a redshirt, and plans to return to the team in 2021. “I’m focusing on my family right now,” Farrell said. The 6'-4", 319-lbs Farrell was a huge contributor to the Tigers' national champion run last season, totaling 45 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. He was projected to start at defensive end or tackle this season, a position that LSU finds itself deep at. The NCAA has passed legislation allowing athletes to opt out of the 2020 season but remain on scholarship. Also universities or their insurers must pay any medical costs associated with COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment. So far Coach Orgeron feels like the program has done a good job with its safety protocols, mentioning that when the team is practicing they are wearing mask and the coaching staff are wearing mask in the office. The Tigers are scheduled to begin practice for the season on August 17th. 8/8/2020 By: Terrill J. Weil Da Boot Sports! The SEC has finally released the plus two opponents for the 2020 football season. LSU will have a date at Vanderbilt and a home date against Missouri added. The official schedule should be released one day next week. (The schedule I released in my original post yesterday was NOT the new schedule. I apologize for any confusion I may have cause. New official 2020 schedule to be released by the SEC very soon.) GEAUX TIGERS!! |
