BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU returned to the practice field for day two of fall football camp on Friday morning. We were allowed to only view 15 minutes of drills.
Though not quite as hot as yesterday morning, it was still scorching for the team who started Friday's practice indoors before moving outside to finish of their day. For the second day in a row the Tigers practiced with great energy and high intensity.

A big concern for the Tigers this season will be the defensive line. On Thursday Jacobian Guillory and Gio Paez worked with the starting unit while Da'Shawn Womack and Sai'vion Jones were the first team defensive ends.

As expected Harold Perkins Jr. and Greg Penn III were first team linebackers with the Weeks brothers backing them up.

Look for the secondary to be much improved this season. Ashton Stamps continues to impress with solid play. Both Stamps and Sage Ryan worked as the first team corners on Thursday. Zy Alexander is returning from an ACL injury and will have his reps increased as the fall camp moves along. KJ Johnson will contribute this season as well. Jordan Allen and Jordin Gilbert were starters at safety. Major Burns looks really good at the 'STAR' position.

LSU worked on special teams. Peyton Todd and Blake Ochsendorf are battling for the starting punter position. As of now, Ochsendorf looks to be the favorite to win the job, as he seems to be outperforming Todd.

Zavion Thomas and Aaron Anderson look to be the favorites to return punts.

At wide receiver, Kyren Lacy, Chris Hilton Jr. and CJ Daniels have looked fantastic. They catch everything. The LSU quarterbacks have some quality targets to work with. Wide receiver Shelton Sampson wasn't seen at today's practice after hitting his head on the ground on Thursday after making a great catch. It's obvious that the coaching staff is giving him a little time to recover from the blow.

Kaleb Jackson looks like he may have a great opportunity to be the Tigers feature back. I still say he has a Leonard Fournette build and running style. Josh Williams will continue to be a solid, steady, dependable back for the Bayou Bengals. John Emery has been cleared to practice after ACL surgery. He is looking impressive and should be able to contribute in 2024.

At quarterback, redshirt freshman Rickie Collins is giving Vanderbilt transfer AJ Swann a solid battle for the backup position. Swann has SEC starting experience, but Collins continues to show nice improvement and his talents are very noticeable.

The Tigers will have a closed practice on Saturday before taking off on Sunday to rest. On Monday, the team will begin to practice in full pads.
