BATON ROUGE, LA - A beautiful day in Tiger Stadium for some LSU football. 67 degrees, sunny and the chance of rain,... NEVER!

The LSU football program decided to do away with the traditional spring game, and replace it with a full practice/scrimmage that was open to the public. The team signed autographs at the conclusion of practice for the fans.

The team began with a short individual drill session before going through situational scrimmages. There were no official stats kept.

Nothing explosive from the offense. Garrett Nussmeier had an average day. Michael Van Buren made some nice throws. Ju'Juan Johnson made a few good throws and showed his athletic ability with some flashy running with, especially close to the goal line.

Zavion Thomas stood out to me with a few nice catches and had some solid rushes out of the backfield, including a nice touchdown run around the left side. Barion Brown had a solid day with some nice grabs. Kylan Billiot made a couple of nice receptions and Aaron Anderson had a few catches.

Garrett Nusmeier and the receivers seem out of rhythm, Nuss missed some wide open receivers. They need to work on their timing.

Harlem Berry showcased his talents on a 23 yard run.

Caden Durham sat out the practice with an ankle injury.

Kaleb Jackson ran hard with power.

The starting offensive line: LT - Tyree Adams, LG - Paul Mubenga, C - DJ Chester, RG - Coen Echols, RT - Weston Davis

The edge rushers were fantastic, they dominated throughout the scrimmage. Jack Pyburn and Jimari Butler are the real deal. Gabriel Reliford had a solid performance.

They had a couple of special teams sessions. Damion Ramos hit kicks from 47 and 55 yards. He had a kick blocked and missed a 45 yard attempt that hit the upright.

Punter Peyton Todd was unimpressive with a handful of short punts. Grant Chadwick did have two very nice punts, a 54 yarder and a 60 yarder that looked like it was shot out of a cannon.

Aaron Anderson, Barion Brown and Zavion Thomas rotated returning punts. Thomas looks to still be the main returner out of the group.

The Tigers have two practices left in their spring camp.
