   BATON ROUGE, LA - The Tigers played host to #5 Tennessee in the Maravich Center and fell to the Volunteers, 65-59.  
   
   Like I keep saying, same story, different game. LSU is competitive for much of the contest, but they simply don’t have enough offensive fire-power to compete with SEC competition. Poor shooting and turnovers doom them each and every game. 
  
   LSU shot 41% on the night. They hit 7-27 three point attempts for 26%. LSU went 10-16 from the free throw line. Those six missed points was the difference in the ball game. The Tigers committed ten total turnovers and were out-rebounded, 44-28.
  
   Victorius Miller led the team with 17 points. Cam Carter scored 12. Daimion Collins finished with 9 points. Curtis Givens III added 8 points. Dji Bailey contributed 5. Robert Miller III had 4 points. Jordan Sears and Mike Williams III both added 2 points each.


   The contest surprisingly started as a low scoring affair. At the 15:08 media timeout, Tennessee led, 7-5.
  
   Both teams would play even over the next four minutes, as the Vols held a 14-12 advantage at the 11:29 mark.
  
   LSU would go into a six minute scoring drought, allowing Tennessee to extend their lead to 22-14 with 5:42 left in the first half.
  
   Both teams continued to play sloppy and shoot poorly, as the Vols would outscore LSU, 8-6 over the next seven minutes, to hold a 26-20 lead.
    
    Daimion Collins hit a three pointer with 40 seconds left in the half to cut the Volunteers lead to three, 26-23 at halftime.
  
   LSU shot 37% from the floor in the first half. They were 3-15 from behind the arc for 20%. They missed their only free throw attempt. The Tigers turned the ball over six times while forcing Tennessee into eight. The Vols out-rebounded LSU, 22-13 over the first 20 minutes of play.
  
   Victorius Miller led the team at the break with 10 points. Daimion Collins scored 5 points. Dji Bailey added 4. Cam Carter and Mike Williams III both finished with 2 points each. LSU played great defense in the first half. Can they keep this level of play up or will they have their typical second half collapse?


   Tennessee started the second half with a 10-5 run to extend their advantage to, 36-28 at the 15:29 mark while LSU continued to struggle offensively.
  
   Both teams continued to play solid defense and struggle on offense, but Tennessee was doing just enough to remain in control of the contest. With 11:06 left, LSU trailed, 43-35.
  
   At the 6:49 media timeout, the Vols held a 53-44 advantage.
  
   Tennessee slowly pulled away late in the game to earn the victory.
  
   With the loss, LSU falls to 14-14 overall and 3-12 in SEC play. Next up, the Tigers travel to Starkville to play #24 Mississippi State on Saturday, March 1 at 2:30 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   BATON ROUGE, LA - The Tigers played host to #2 Florida in the Maravich Center on Saturday afternoon and played hard, but fell, 79-65. This Florida team is for real and is without a doubt one of the best teams in the country.


   Great effort by the Bayou Bengals, just not enough offense to pull it out.


   LSU finished the game shooting 38% from the floor. They were 9-31 from behind the three point arc for 29%. At the free throw line they sank, 8-12 for 67%. LSU only turned the ball over only seven times and were out-rebounded, 48-33.
   Robert Miller III led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Curtis Givens III scored 11 points. Mike Willians III finished with 10. Daimion Collins added 8 points. Cam Carter scored 7. Victorius Miller and Dji Bailey both had 3 points each. Jordan Sears and Corey Chest both finished with 2 points each.


   The game started with a fast pace as both teams pushing the ball quickly, however it was the Gators who started with the early upper hand, leading 9-4 at the 15:53 official’s timeout.


    LSU had several opportunities to catch Florida, but just couldn’t get their shots to fall, shooting only 20% from the floor over the first seven minutes of the contest.


   Over the next four minutes, Florida outscored the Tigers, 9-3 to increase their advantage to, 18-7 at the 11:52 mark.


   With 7;34 left in the first half, the Gators held a twelve point lead, 27-15.


   LSU would go on a 11-2 run, cutting the Gators’ lead to three, 29-26 with 3:53 left in the half. The Tigers were their own worse enemy, missing several easy shots right under the basket and missing four free throws.


   The Tigers went on another 11-2 run over the final 3:53 of the half to lead, 37-31 at halftime. LSU played great basketball over the final seven minutes of the half, especially on defense, shutting the hot shooting Gators down.


   LSU shot 39% from the floor in the first half. They hit 6-16 from behind the arc for 38%. They hit 7-11 free throws for 64%. LSU turned the ball over only once in the first half. Florida out-rebounded the Tigers, 24-19 over the first 20 minutes.
    Robert Miller III led the team at the break with 12 points. Mike Williams III scored 7 points. Daimion Collins added 4. Curtis Givens III, Dji Bailey and Vyctorius Miller all scored 3 points each. Jordan Sears finished with 2 points.




   Florida outscored LSU, 11-9 over the first six minutes of the second half, cutting the Tigers’ lead to, 46-42 with 14:25 left on the clock.


   The Gators battled back with a 7-4 run to pull to within one, 50-49 at the 12:00 mark. For some reason, the official’s took away a basket from LSU as we returned to play after an official’s review. 49-48 Florida at the 12:00 mark.


   Florida began to take control of the contest, going on a 11-4 run to take a 60-52 lead with 8:49 left.


   LSU began to miss shots badly and got sloppy as the Gators extended their lead to ten, 69-59 with 4:16 left and continued to pull away.


   LSU falls to 14-13 overall and 3-11 in SEC play. Next, the Tigers will host Tennessee on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 8:00 pm.. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU returned home to host South Carolina looking to build on the momentum from their victory over Oklahoma. That's exactly what they did, as they played one of their best games of the season, defeating the Gamecocks, 81-67 in front of 7.403 Tiger fans in the PMAC. 

   The Tigers played with focus and confidence, shooting the ball well for 40 minutes and doing a much better job of taking care of the basketball.  It was a big conference victory against a beatable opponent. It was a must win for the Bayou Bengals as they fight to turn things around. 

​   LSU shot 50% from the floor on the night. They shot very well from behind the three point arc, hitting 13-30 for 43%. They sank 6-7 from the charity stripe for 86%. 
   Cam Carter led the team with 17 points. Mike Williams III finished with 13. Vyctorius Miller contributed 12 points. Dji Bailey scored 11 points. Daimion Collins added 8. Robert Miller III had 7 points. Jordan Sears finished with 6 points. Corey Chest scored 4 and Curtis Givens III had 3 points.


   Both teams opened the game pushing the ball quickly up and down the floor, trading baskets. At the 15:34 media timeout, LSU led, 10-7. 

   In a contest between two struggling squads, the offensive performance went ice cold with both teams falling into a two minutes plus scoring drought. At the 11:59 media timeout, LSU held a 14-11 lead.

   The shots began to fall for the Tigers as they would go on a 14-7 run to build a ten point advantage, 28-18 with 7:03 left in the first half. 

   Over the next four minutes, LSU outscored the Cocks, 8-4 to extend their lead to, 36-22.

   The Tigers would go into the half leading, 41-27. LSU played very well in the first half shooting 16-28 from the floor for a solid 57%. They shot well from behind the arc, hitting 6-13 for 46%. At the free throw line, the Bayou Bengals sank 3-4 for 75%. LSU turned the ball over six times in the first half while forcing the Gamecocks into nine. The Tigers led the rebound battle, 16-15.
   Cam Carter led the team at the break with 9 points. Mike Williams III scored 8 points. Vyctorius Miller added 6. Robert Miller III finished with 5 points. Dji Bailey and Daimion Collins both had 4 points each. Jordan Sears scored 3 points while Corey Chest added 2 points. 


   The Tigers were able to maintain their double digit lead over the first four minutes of play. At the 15:40 mark LSU lead, 46-34.

   LSU continued to play very well over the next four minutes, outscoring South Carolina, 13-8 to increase their lead to, 59-42 with 11:23 left in the contest. 

   The Tigers were having a great night shooting the basketball as they remained in control of the game, leading 69-53 at the 7:39 mark. 

   With 3:08 left in the contest, LSU's lead was twenty, 81-61 as they continued to outplay South Carolina. The Tigers coasted the rest of the way for the victory. 

   The Tigers improve to 14-12 overall and 3-10 in the SEC. Next up, LSU will host #2 Florida on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5:00 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   NORMAN, OK - LSU continued their road trip, arriving in Norman where they thankfully ended the losing streak, defeating the Oklahoma Sooners, 82-79 on Saturday evening.

    With 1:21 left in the contest, the Sooners held a one point lead, 75-74. Could the Tigers make the plays necessary to stop the seven game losing streak? The answer was YES! Thanks to the Cam Carter show.. With 20 seconds left, Carter hit a three pointer and was fouled. He made the free throw to cut the lead to one, 79-78. Carter then gave LSU the lead, 80-79 after hitting a running layup with 8.4 seconds remaining. It was an 8-0 LSU run over the final 20 seconds of the game. 

   The Tigers shot 27-56 from the floor for 48%. They finished 11-28 from behind the arc for 39%. LSU really struggled at the free throw line, only making, 17-30 for 57%. They did a very nice job of taking care of the basketball, only committing nine turnover on the day. 
   Cam Carter led the Tigers with 29 points. Daimion Collins had a great game, scoring 22 points. Dji Bailey added 13 points. Victorius Miller finished with 9. Mike Williams III added 4 points. Curtis Givens III scored 3 and Robert Miller III finished with 2 points. 


​   LSU started the contest shooting poorly, but their hustle and heart helped them to stay in the game. At the 11:34 media timeout, Oklahoma held a four point advantage, 14-10.

   The Sooners remained on fire early as they started to separate themselves from the inconsistent Tigers. After trailing by ten, LSU would outscore Oklahoma, 10-3 over the next three minutes to pull to within three, 23-20 at the 7:48 mark.

   Once again, LSU was able to hang close, but poor shooting allowed the Sooners to stay in control and build a six point advantage, 35-29 at halftime.

   LSU shot 38% from the floor in the first half. They struggled from behind the arc, hitting only 4-15 for 27%. They left four points at the line, sinking only 3-7 free throws for 43%. Both teams only turned the ball over four times. Oklahoma out-rebounded the Tigers, 20-16.
   Dji Bailey led the team at the break with 11 points. Daimion Collins finished with 6 points. Cam Carter added 5. Robert Miller III, Curtis Givens III and Vyctorius Miller all had 2 points each and Mike Williams III had 1 point at the half.  Jordan Sears spent most of the first half on the bench after picking up two quick. early fouls and Corey Chest was unable to play due to an issue with back spasms.


   The Sooners began the second half with a 9-2 run to increase their lead to, 44-31 at the 15:51 mark. The Tigers looked totally out of sync, struggling on both ends of the floor. 

   Over the next five minutes, LSU would continue to scratch and claw themselves back into the game, outscoring Oklahoma, 13-6 to cut the lead to six, 50-44 with 11:22 left on the clock. 

   The Tigers continued to fight and play hard, battling back to pull to within two, 59-57 with 7:45 left to go. 

   LSU grabbed their first lead of the game since very early in the contest, 62-59 at the 6:54 mark. Now, they needed to continue the improved play to have a chance to finally taste victory.  

   Oklahoma responded by outscoring LSU, 12-8 over the next three minutes to regain the lead, 71-68 with 3:44 left. But the Bayou Bengals never quit, battling back with the heart of a Tiger!  A much needed, huge win for this group of young men.... 

    With the win, LSU improves to 13-12 overall and 2-10 in the SEC. Next, the Tigers will return home on Tuesday, Feb. 18 to host South Carolina at 8:00 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   FAYETTEVILLE, AR - A struggling LSU basketball team traveled to chilly Fayetteville to rematch the Razorbacks who had revenge on their mind after falling to the Tigers in Baton Rouge earlier in the season and got it as they defeated LSU, 70-58. Since the Bayou Bengal's defeated Arkansas at home on January 14, the Tigers have dropped seven straight. 

   Different game, same story. LSU simply can't play at a high level for 40 minutes against SEC competition. The lack of offensive firepower continues to haunt this team.  The Tigers also had no answer for Arkansas' 7-2 center Ivisic Zuonimir on either side of the floor. He scored 25 points and blocked four shots. 

   LSU shot 39% from the floor on the night. They hit only 5-20 from behind the arc for 25%. They made 3-6 free throws. The Tigers committed nine total turnovers and were out-rebounded, 39-33.
   Robert Miller III led the team with 16 points. Cam Carter finished with 13. Vyctorius Miller added 9 points. Corey Chest finished with 7. Derek Fountain contributed 5 points. Daimion Collins scored 4. Jordan Sears and Dji Bailey only scored 2 points each.


   LSU jumped out to an early 5-0 lead but would then be outscored by the Hogs, 11-4 over the next couple of minutes. Arkansas led, 11-9 at the 15:31 official's timeout. 

   During the media timeout, the official's reviewed one of Arkansas' baskets that was ruled a goal-tend and it was seen that LSU didn't touch the ball on the missed shoot so they took the two points off the board. That adjusted the game score to a 9-9 tie at the 15:31 mark. 

​   Arkansas went on a 8-2 run to take a 21-16 advantage, forcing Matt McMahon to call a timeout with 7:58 left in the first half. 

   LSU continued to play hard and well, cutting the Hog's lead to two, 28-26 with 3:50 left in the half.

   The Tigers played well during the final three minutes of the half, outscoring Arkansas, 9-6. Vyctorius Miller hit a three pointer at the buzzer to give LSU a 35-34 lead at the break. 

   LSU shot 42% from the floor in the first half. They sank 4-14 three point attempts for 29%. The Tigers need to be better at the free throw line in the second half, as they were 1-4 for 25% from the charity stripe. LSU did a great job of taking care of the ball over the first 20 minutes with only three turnovers. Arkansas won the first half rebound battle, 24-18.
   Cam Carter led the team at the break with 8 points. Corey Chest scored 7 points. Robert Miller III added 6 points. Derek Fountain finished with 5. Vyctorius Miller has 3 points. Jordan Sears, Dji Bailey and Daimion Collins added 2 points each. 


   Arkansas outscored LSU, 9-6 early in the second half as the Tigers found themselves falling into foul trouble. Jordan Sears, Dji Bailey and Daimion Collins all committed their third foul by the 15:21 mark with the Hog's holding a 43-41 lead. 

   The Tigers continued to fight and play well, but Arkansas raised their level of play to go on a 10-4 run to extend their lead to, 53-45, forcing LSU to call a timeout to try and stop the bleeding with 12:29 left on the clock. 

   LSU slowly began to revert back to the normal inconsistent play, taking ugly shots and missing easy ones. The Hogs maintained their lead, as the Tigers trailed, 58-50 at the 7:17 mark. 

   The Bayou Bengals couldn't keep pace with the Hogs late in the second half, but refused to quit as they continued to fight and battle to get back into the game. With 2:38 left in the contest, Arkansas led, 65-56. 

   The Tigers are now 12-12 overall and 1-10 in the SEC. Next up, LSU will head to Norman, Oklahoma to play the Sooners on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5:00 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   BATON ROUGE, LA - Would the five game losing streak end on Saturday night? The answer unfortunately was no it wouldn't. The Tigers had a terrible melt down over the final 2:52 of the game to lose to the 25th ranked Rebels, 72-70 in front of 6,980 Tiger fans in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. 

   LSU played one of their best games of the season for 37 minutes before blowing a ten point lead as Ole Miss went on a 12-0 run over the final 2:52 of the contest to steal the win. Dre Davis tipped the ball into the basket with .01 seconds left on the clock. What a devastating loss for a struggling LSU team. 

   The Tigers ended the night shooting 45% from the floor. They made 8-24 three point attempts for 33%. LSU lost this game at the free throw line only making 12-25 for 48%. 
   Cam Carter led the team with 16 points. Daimion Collins scored 15 points. Jordan Sears added 13. seven other Tigers finished with single digit scoring. 

   
   The game started with both teams playing well, pushing the ball aggressively up and down the floor. Ole Miss held a 14-11 lead at the 11:47 media timeout. 

   Over the next four minutes LSU played the Rebels tough, outscoring Ole Miss, 8-4 to take a 19-18 lead at the 7:52 mark. 

   LSU played with focus and discipline so far in the first half as they were able to lead the Rebels, 32-28 with 3:43 left in the first half. 

   The Tigers played one of their finest halves of the season as they took a 39-33 lead into the locker room at the halftime break. 

   The Bayou Bengals shot 15-33 from the floor in the first half for 45%. They hit 4-15 from behind the three point arc for 27%. The Tigers need to be better from the free throw line in the second half as they only sank 5-12 in the first half for 42%. LSU did a great job of taking care of the ball over the first 20 minutes, only turning the ball over twice. The Tigers out-rebounded Ole Miss, 22-15.
   Daimion Collins led the team at the break with 13 points. Cam Carter scored 8 points. Corey Chest, Dji Bailey, Mike Williams III and Trey'Dez Green all scored 3 points each. Vyctorius Miller, Curtis Givens III and Robert Miller III had 2 points each. 


   LSU continued their solid play early in the second half, outscoring the Rebels, 10-6 over the first four minutes of the half to take a ten point lead, 49-39. 

   Over the next four minutes, Ole Miss was able to outscore LSU, 8-2, cutting the LSU lead to four, 51-47 at the 11:56 mark. You can feel the Rebels starting to sift the momentum back in their direction. 

   At the 7:50 media timeout, LSU held a 57-53 advantage in what had turned into a very physical contest. 

​   The Tigers were able to extend their lead to ten, 63-53 at the 5:00 minute mark.

   Ole Miss would slowly chip away at the LSU lead, going on a late 10-2 run, cutting the Tigers' lead to three, 70-67 with 1:29 left. Ole Miss then sank a three pointer to tie the game at 70-70 with only 45 seconds left in the contest. 

   The losing streak now extends to six in a row as LSU falls to 12-11 overall and 1-9 in SEC play. Next up the Tigers will limp into Fayetteville to play a revenge minded Arkansas team on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8:00 pm. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

   ATHENS, GA - The Tigers travel to Athens to take on a talented Georgia team, hoping to stop their four game losing streak. But the streak extends to five with a 81-62 loss. Things really turned ugly over the final two minutes of play as, Georgia easily pulled away from the struggling Tigers. 

   As its been all season long, LSU simply doesn't have enough shooters and offensive fire power to compete in SEC play. 

   LSU finished shooting only 36% from the floor on the night. They finished 12-33 from behind the three point arc for 36%. The Tigers shot a weak, 8-13 from the free throw line. They turned the ball over 12 times and the Bulldogs destroyed the Bayou Bengals on the boards, 47-26.
   Jordan Sears led the team with 11 points. Cam Carter and Daimion Collins both finished with 10 points each. Mike Williams III and Curtis Givens III both added 9 points each. Dji Bailey had 6 and Corey Chest finished with 4 points. 

   The game began with a fast and furious pace and both teams playing well. The game stood at a 15-15 tie when we reached the 14:30 media timeout. All 15 LSU points came from behind the arc as LSU hit 5-8 three point attempts.

   The Tigers continued to play well on both ends of the court, especially on offense where so far they were having their best three point shooting game of the season. Every LSU basket made up to this point in the contest was a three pointer (nine of them), as they found themselves hitting 9-15 from behind the arc. At the 7:26 media timeout, the score was all even at 27-27. 

   LSU ended up cooling off from the outside and continued to struggle scoring down low in the paint against a tough Bulldogs defense, as we went into the halftime break with Georgia holding a 37-31 advantage.

   The Bayou Bengals shot 37% from the floor in the first half. 9-21 from behind the arc for 43%. LSU made no trips to the free throw line. They only turned the ball over four times over the first 20 minutes. Georgia dominated on the boards, out-rebounding LSU, 25-8 in the first half. 
   Jordan Sears, Curtis Givens III and Dji Bailey all finished with 6 points each in the first half. Mike Williams III scored 5. Cam Carter and Daimion Collins both added 3 points each and Corey Chest finished with 2 points. The Tigers will need to be more consistent on offense in the second half to have a chance to win the ball game. They simply can't depend on three point shooting to carry them for 40 minutes. 


   The second half began with the same fast pace action that both teams began the contest with, exchanging baskets while pushing the ball quickly up and down the floor. LSU was able to outscore Georgia, 13-12 over the first four minutes of the half to pull to within five, 49-44.

   Over the next three minutes the Bulldogs would outscore LSU, 13-6 to increase their lead to ten, 60-50 with 11:41 left on the clock. 

   LSU began to revert back to their usual sloppy play. Turnovers and very poor shooting contributed to Georgia increasing their lead to 67-50 as the Tigers found themselves in a 4:02 period without scoring a point. 

   A well coached Georgia team slowly pulled away from LSU and stayed in control the rest of the way to earn the victory. LSU's offense totally disappeared over the final 14 minutes of the game. 

   The Tigers fall to 12-10 overall and 1-8 in the SEC. Next up, the Tigers return home to the PMAC on Saturday, Feb. 8 to host Ole Miss. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm and the game will be televised on the SEC Network.

   BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU hosted Texas on Saturday afternoon in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center hoping to end their three game losing streak, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, as LSU dropped a winnable game against an pretty evenly matched opponent, 89-58.  Texas simply coasted their way to the blow out victory over the last 11:43 of the contest. 

   LSU finished the game shooting, 45% from the floor. They were 2-15 from three point range for 13%. They sank 10-15 free throws for 67%. LSU turned the ball over 15 times while Texas only committed 7. The Longhorns out-rebounded the Tigers, 35-23. Texas sank
10-21 three point attempts on the night. 
   Jordan Sears led the team with 13 points. Robert Miller III and Vyctorius Miller both had 9 points each. Cam Carter and Corey Chest both scored 6 points each. Dji Bailey and Trey'Dez Green added 4 points each. Daimion Collins finished with 3 points. 

   Texas took advantage of LSU's typical slow start, taking a 9-4 lead at the 15:55 media timeout.

   The Tigers would outscore the Longhorns, 9-7 over the next six minutes to cut the Texas lead to, 16-13 at the 10:22 mark.

   LSU would then go cold from the floor, allowing Texas to increase their lead to, 24-15 with 7:37 left in the first half. 

   Five minutes later, the Bayou Bengals found themselves trailing by eight, 31-23 as their inconsistent play continued to haunt them. 

   The contest would go to the halftime break with Texas leading, 31-25.

   Even with LSU trailing by six, the game stats were pretty even. Both teams shot 41% from the floor. Both teams committed six turnovers each. The difference was from behind the three point arc, where the Tigers hit only 1-10 and Texas sank, 4-10. LSU was 0-2 from the free throw line.
   Jordan Sears led the team at the break with 8 points. Robert Miller III scored 6 points. Vyctorius Miller added 5. Dji Bailey, Cam Carter and Derek Fountain all managed 2 points each. 


   Both teams started the second half with wild, out of control, sloppy play, but it was the Longhorns who would settle down and go on a 12-6 run to increase their advantage to 43-31 at the 15:34 mark. 

   LSU plays hard, but they are a very undisciplined team that plays very inconsistent basketball. They lack badly in the scoring department. Just not enough good shooters on this team. With 11:43 left in the contest, Texas increased their lead to 52-33. 

   At the 7:30 official's timeout, Texas led, 66-46 as the fans in the Maravich Center began heading to the exits. 

   It was a very ugly loss for the Bayou Bengals who now fall to 12-9 overall and 1-7 in the SEC. Next up the Tigers will travel to Athens to play Georgia on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8:00 pm. the game will be televised on the SEC Network.
