BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU returned home to play their final regular season game of the season, falling to Texas A&M on Senior Day, 66-52 in the Maravich Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies started fast, racing out to a 15-7 lead over the first six minutes of the half.

LSU would go on an 11-4 run over the next six minutes to take the lead, 19-18 at the 7:52 mark as the Tigers’ tough defense forced Texas A&M into a four minute plus scoring drought.

The Tigers continued their run, scoring eight more straight to extend their to 26-19, causing A&M to call a time out with 6:36 left in the half.

At the 3:32 media timeout, LSU held a 29-24 advantage.

The Aggies outscored the Tigers, 6-3 over the final three minutes of the half, cutting LSU’s lead to two points, 32-30 at halftime.

The Tigers shot 39% from the floor in the first half. They hit 4-11 from behind the arc for 36%. At the free throw line, they sank 10-12 for 83%. LSU committed eight first half turnovers while A&M committed Sven. The rebound battle was even at 14-14.

LSU returned to their sloppy, inconsistent play which allowed Texas A&M to remain in control of the contest.

The Tigers went completely ice cold on offense, hitting only 1 of their 15 shots in the second half as the Aggies extended their lead to 53-37 at the 7:25 mark.

There was no quit by the Tigers as the clawed their way back to within ten, 58-48 with 4:20 left. But LSU simply didn’t have enough in them to pull any closer.

The Tigers fall to 14-17 overall and 3-15 in the SEC. Next, LSU will travel to Nashville to play Mississippi State in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
