BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU played their last game of the Tiger Invitational on Saturday evening, beating Memphis, 7-0.

Paytn Monticelli (2-1) started in the circle for LSU and went six innings, giving up no runs on two hits. She walked two and struck out nine to earn the win. Ashlin Mowery entered the game in the seventh and finished things off for the victory.

LSU got on the board first in the bottom of the second. Kylee Edwards walked, then stole second base. Edwards then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Ci'ella Pickett doubled to right center to bring Edwards home. Destiny Harris walked. Jalia Lassiter flied out to moving Pickett to third. Harris stole second and was able to advance to third on a bad throw. Pickett scored on the play. We headed to the third inning with LSU leading 2-0.

With the Memphis pitchers struggling, LSU was able to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third, but only got two runs out of it. After three innings, the Lady Tigers led, 4-0.

The Lady Tigers once again load the bases with no outs, this time in the bottom of the sixth. Tori Edwards hit into a double play, scoring Char Lorenz. Maci Bergeron stepped to the plate and launched a home run to left center field. We headed to the seventh inning with LSU ahead, 7-0.

With the win the Lady Tigers improve to 16-4. Next up, LSU travels to Knoxville to play the #1 ranked Tennessee Lady Vols. Fiest game is on Friday, March 6 at 5:00pm.
