 Da Boot Sports 2/8/2025 By: Terrill J. Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU returned to the diamond for their second contest of the day, as they defeated Central Arkansas, 6-0. Ashley Vallejo started in the circle for game two of the day. She finished her day pitching five innings, giving up two hits while striking out two. A very nice outing in the circle. The Lady Tigers wasted little time as they would get on the board in the bottom of the first. Jalia Lassiter and Maci Bergeron drew back to back walks. Tori Edwards stepped to the plate and sent the ball over the left field wall for a three run homer. We headed to the second with LSU up, 3-0. LSU added to their lead in the bottom of the third. Bergeron started it off with a one out single to left field. Tori Edwards then singled to center field. McKenzie Redoutey walked to load the bases. Maddox McKee grounded out to score Bergeron from third. The inning would end with LSU now up, 4-0. Tori Edwards has turned into a home run hitting machine. With two outs and the bases empty, she blasted a home run over the left field wall. It was her third homer in her last four at bats. (A grand slam, a three run shot and a solo shot). The game headed to the sixth inning with LSU holding a 5-0 advantage. Emily Casanova entered the contest to pitch and got the Bears out with no damage done to end the top of the sixth inning. Jayden Laneaux led off the bottom of the sixth with a stand up triple to right field. Coffey would single to left field to bring Laneaux home. The inning ended with LSU now leading, 6-0. Casanova got the final three outs for the shut out victory. LSU improves to, 4-0. The Lady Tigers will play in the final game of the Tiger Classic on Sunday against Southeastern Louisiana at 3:00 pm.. John 14:6 - "I am the way and the truth and the life.
