BATON ROUGE, LA -  On Friday LSU went 2-0 on day one of the Tiger Classic. The Lady Tigers opened up day two of the Classic with a 10-0 run-rule victory over the Charlotte 49ers.

Tatum Clopton started in the circle for the Lady Tigers for game one and pitch four innings, giving up no runs, no hits, striking out four while issuing only one base on balls.

After an uneventful one and a half opening innings, Tori Edwards led off by smashing a double to left field.  Maddox McKee then walked, followed by a base on balls by McKaela Walker. The runners moved up on a wild pitch. Edwards would then score from third on another wild pitch. Jada Phillips then popped out to the short stop, setting up runners on second and third with two outs. Avery Hodge then walked to load the bases, bringing Danieca Coffey to the plate. Coffey doubled to deep left field to clear the bases. Jalia Lassiter flied out to left field to end the second inning. We headed to the third with LSU up, 4-0.

LSU struck again in the bottom of the fourth. Waker led off with a base on balls, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Walker then advanced to third on a sacrifice fly by Phillips. Avery Hodge then flied out to center field to bring Walker home. Coffey would then single to right field. Lassiter singled up the middle, followed by a base on balls for Maci Bergeron to load the bases. Tori Edwards then stepped to the plate and launched a grand slam homer over the left field wall. LSU would add one more run in the inning. We headed to the top of the fifth inning with LSU up, 10-0.

Emily Casanova entered to game to pitch in the top of the fifth and got the final three outs to give LSU a 10-0 run-rule victory.

With the win, the Lady Tigers are now 3-0. Next, LSU will play Central Arkansas on Saturday at 4:00 pm in game two of day two.
