 Photo By: LSUsports.net Da Boot Sports 3/6/2026 By: Terrill J. Weil KNOXVILLE, TN - The Lady Tigers traveled to Knoxville to take on the top ranked Lady Vols and were shut out, 5-0. Jayden Heavener (6-3) went the distance for the Lady Tigers and was charged with the loss. Tennessee got on the board in the bottom of the third. With a runner on first with two outs, Makenzie Butt launched a two run homer to left center field. 2-0 Lady Vols as we moved to the fourth inning. The Lady Vols extended their lead in the fourth when Taelyn Holley hit a solo shot to left field. Tennessee plated another run in the fifth inning. 4-0 as we headed to the sixth inning. LSU was simply struggling at the plate against the outstanding Tennessee pitching. Another run in the sixth pushed the Tennessee advantage to 5-0. With the loss, LSU falls to 17-5 and 0-1 in SEC play. Next up, the Lady Tigers will play game two in the weekend series on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00pm. *John 14:6 - "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
