Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU rudely welcomed UT Arlington to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Sunday afternoon with a dominating, 110-45 victory in front of 11,163 Tiger fans. LSU shot 49% from the floor for the game. They only hit 4-16 from three point land for 25%. The Lady Tigers had an off day at the free throw line, sinking 26-40 for 65%. LSU out-rebounded UTA, 62-29. The Lady Tigers turned the ball over 17 times, while UTA committed 34. Grace Knox led the team with a double-double, 25 points and 12 rebounds. Fuwiley scored 23 points. Flau'Jae added 14. Joyner finished with 14 points and 11 boards to register a double-double. Richard contributed 10 points. Williams and Koval both added 7 points each. Hines scored 6 points and Yarnevich finished with 4. UT Arlington kept the game close over the first four minutes of the contest, as LSU held a 9-7 lead at the 6:32 mark. The Lady Tigers would go on an 18-1 run to end the first period with a 27-10 advantage. LSU shifted things into another gear in the second period as they continued to pull away from the Lady Mavericks, out-scoring them, 30-11 in the quarter to take a 57-21 lead at the halftime break. The Lady Tigers shot the ball well from the field, hitting 20-40 for 50%. They were only 2-9 from behind the arc for 22%. At the charity stripe, they sank 15-21 for 71%. LSU out-rebounded UTA, 29-14. The Lady Tigers committed eight first half turnovers while forcing the Lady Mavericks into 19. Grace Knox led the team at the break with 12 points. Flau'Jae Johnson scored 10. Amiya Joyner added 8 points. Kate Koval finished with 7. Mikaylah Williams and MiLaysia Fulwiley both had 6 points each. Jada Richard scored 5 and Bella Hines contributed 3 points. LSU would go on a 12-7 run to open the third period to lead, 69-28 at the 4:48 official's timeout. The Ben-Gals then out-scored UTA, 14-7 over the final five minutes of the third to take an 83-35 advantage into the final period. With 4:53 left in the contest, LSU led, 96-40. The Lady Tigers coasted the rest of the way for the 65 point victory. With the win, LSU improves to 13-0. Next up the Lady Tigers will host Alabama State on Sunday, December 28.
