Da Boot Sports 3/22/2026 By: Terrill J. Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU dominated Texas Tech, 101-47 on Sunday afternoon in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. It was also Flau'jae Johnson's final game in the PMAC. It was an exciting and emotional ending to the contest as Johnson made her round of the court waving and thanking the LSU fans in attendance. LSU shot 56% from the field on the day. They sank 7-18 from three point range for 39%. At the free throw line they hit 24-26 for 92%. LSU out-rebounded Tech, 54-39. Flau'jae and Williams both scored 24 points each to lead the team. Joyner added 11. Koval and Richard both managed 10 points each. Z. Johnson scored 8 points. Knox and Hines contributed 6 points each and Fulwiley had 2 points. LSU stared fast, going on an 8-0 run to start the contest, forcing Texas Tech to call a timeout at the 7:04 mark. Over the next three minutes, Texas Tech responded with a 6-2 run, cutting the LSU lead to 10-6 at the 4:44 media timeout. The first period came to an end with LSU leading, 19-14. LSU out-scored the Lady Red Raiders, 15-3 over the first six plus minutes of the second period. At the 3:45 official's timeout, LSU held a 34-17 advantage. The Lady Tigers finished the first half strong, taking a 43-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. LSU shot 18-32 from the field in the first half for 56%. They hit 3-9 from behind the arc for 33%. At the charity stripe they sank 4-5 for 80%. Texas Tech led in rebounds, 21-20. LSU committed four first half turnovers while forcing the Red Raiders into ten. Williams led the team at the break with 14 points. Flau'jae scored 13. Z. Johnson added 4 points. Richard and Joyner both had 3 points each. Knox and Koval finished with 2 points each. LSU exploded out of the locker room to start the second half, out-scoring Texas Tech, 17-3 over the first four minutes of the period. The route was on as the Lady Tigers built a commanding 60-28 lead at the 5:50 mark. The Ben-Gals totally dominated the third period from beginning to end on both sides of the court, taking a huge 76-32 advantage into the fourth period. LSU out-scored Texas Tech, 33-7 in the third quarter. LSU extended their lead to 52 points, 84-32 with 8:05 remaining in the contest. The Lady Tigers coasted the rest of the way for the blow out win to reach the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth straight season.
