Baton Rouge, LA- #7 LSU hosted the Troy Trojans on a rainy Monday night. The PMAC was treated to a dominant 98-59 victory with a much better performance than the Tigers’ last home contest.
After giving up the opening points of the game on a deep three, LSU would push the envelope en route to a ferocious 19-2 run. Aneesah Morrow led the charge with four steals including two in the backcourt off Troy inbounds passes.

Points came in flurries for the Tigers and getting to the free throw line early and often aided the effort. In the first quarter alone, LSU shot 12-17 from the charity stripe. They had as many FTA as they did attempts from the field, pushing the lead to 21 as the period came to a close.

Flau’Jae Johnson led the way with 15 points and LSU led 35-14, marking the most points scored in a quarter this season.

Midway through the second period, the ladies had extended the lead to 44-16. Although the offense cooled down, the defensive work remained just as intense. The teams would head into the locker rooms with Troy trailing 58-24. By the break, Mikaylah Williams joined Morrow and Johnson in the double digits scoring club.

The Trojans played their best quarter of basketball in the third, but it still wasn’t enough to beat the Tigers as LSU outscored Troy, 22-20. Kim Mulkey’s crew would lead 80-44 at the end of three.

When the final horn sounded, LSU defeated Troy 98-59. Aneesah Morrow finished the game with a new season-high 23 points. Flau’Jae led with 27, tying her career best.

Next up, the Tigers will host the Tulane Green Wave on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. CST. That game can be streamed on SECN+. Geaux Tigers!
