Da Boot Sports 6/7/2024 By: Terrill J. Weil NEW ORLEANS. LA - Aaron brooks will always be known as the quarterback to lead the New Orleans Saints to their first playoff victory in franchise history. Brooks came to the Saints in in a trade with the Green Bay Packers right before the start of the 2000 NFL season. Brooks would take over the offense in week 11 after starter Jeff Blake was injured with a broken foot. He would then lead the team to a 3–2 record in his five starts for an overall 10–6 record. In the 2000 playoffs, Brooks passed for four touchdowns, defeating the defending Super Bowl Champions, St. Louis Rams, 31-28. Brooks played six seasons with New Orleans before ending his career with the Oakland Raiders in 2006. He was inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall Of fame on 2014.
