Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - Kentucky traveled to Baton Rouge and came away with a huge conference series win, sweeping LSU at Tiger Park in three close, competitive games. On Friday LSU lead most of the way in game one before the Wildcats had a big sixth inning, scoring three runs to steal the win, 5-3. In game two on Saturday Kentucky found themselves down 4-0 early, but slowly chipped away at the LSU lead, rallying to take a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning. The Tigers answered with a run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 5-5. The contest would go into extra innings and Kentucky's Erin Coffel hit a three run homer in the top of the eighth inning to give the Wildcats a 8-5 victory. On Sunday, LSU took a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning, but the Wildcats exploded for four runs in the top of the final frame to once again come from behind to steal the win, 5-3. It was a heartbreaking weekend for the Tigers as they fell to 22-15 overall (3-6 in SEC play) Next up the Tigers will travel to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies for a three game series, April 8-10.
