BATON ROUGE, LA - LSU Women’s Gymnastics holds on to their No. 2 spot in week 5 with a running average of 197.144 just after an impressive season high 197.550 against the Auburn Tigers. This closes the gap behind No. 1 Florida who leads with a 197.506. This makes things even more interesting as the Tigers get ready for this week's battle in the bayou, Tigers vs Gators. The Tigers also put up a remarkable season high on the uneven bars in Auburn with a 49.475, which bumps them up to the No. 4 spot in the nation. The season high score of 49.425 the Tigers put up on the balance beam in Auburn helps them to hang on to the No. 4 spot in the nation. Matching their season high score of 49.450 on floor also helped the Tigers maintain the No. 1 floor spot. Individually, Friday night’s career high night helped some of the Tigers soar to new spots in the national rankings. Sami Durante put up a powerful 9.95 in Auburn, boosting her from the No. 12 spot nationally to the No. 8 spot. Haleigh Bryant’s 9.90 balance beam routine that was full of grace and strength helped her climb from the No. 16 spot to the No. 13 spot nationally. Bryant also maintains the No. 4 spot nationally on floor. Sarah Edwards also moves up to the No. 15 spot on floor in week 5. Kiya Johnson still reigns on floor with the No. 1 spot nationally. The Tigers set out for an unprecedented season, and they are doing just that. Meet by meet, routine by routine, they are conquering one step at a time. The Tigers are set to take on the No. 1 ranked Florida Gators Friday night in the Pete Maravich Center. This bayou battle will be live on the SEC Network at 6:15 CT.
