BATON ROUGE, La. --- The LSU women’s golf team may be off from competition until next Friday, but they still made the move to No. 1 in the Golfweek team rankings this week with a 70.18 rating. The Tigers moved into the top spot and expect to hold on to it going into the 2020 Liz Murphey Fall Classic, November 6-8 in Athens, Georgia.

LSU has started the 2020-21 season with two second-place finishes at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas and The Ally in West Point, Mississippi. The Tigers are averaging 289.83 strokes per round over six rounds of competition.

The squad features two members of the preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List in sophomores Ingrid Lindblad and Latanna Stone. Newcomers Carla Tejedo Mulet and Jessica Bailey, and senior Kendall Griffin round out the current travel team. Lindblad is leading the team with a 70.17 average, followed by Stone at 72.33. Tejedo Mulet is shooting 73.33 while Bailey and Griffin are each shooting 76.00.
