TUSCALOOSA, AL - LSU traveled to Tuscaloosa to do battle with the Crimson Tide, falling to Bama 8-7 after leading the game most of the night.

LSU grabbed the early lead in the top of the first when Jared Jones launched a one out, solo home run over the left center field wall. 1-0 Tigers heading to the second.

Alabama would even the game up in the bottom of the second inning. With a runner on second, William Hamiter hit a triple in the gap to center field to plate the run.

Both teams found success at the plate in the fourth inning. Ashton Larson got things started being hit by a pitch with two outs. Michael Braswell III singled to right center, moving Larson to second. Steven Milam then single to left center, scoring Larson while Braswell advanced to third base. Paxton Kling stepped to the plate and singled to bring Braswell home. The contest headed to the bottom of the frame with LSU up, 3-1.

Bama would plate two runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 3-3.

LSU wasted little time regaining the lead, as Tommy White led off the fifth inning with a powerful home run to right center field. Jared Jones the hit a double down the left field line. Jones was able to advance to third base on a Josh Pearson ground out. Hayden Travinski would bring Jones home on a sacrifice fly to left field. The Tigers now held a 5-3 lead as the fifth inning came to a close.

Christian Little replace starter Gage Jump late in the sixth inning on the bump. Jump had a solid outing going 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts while walking one.

LSU plated two more runs in the top of the eighth to extend their lead to 7-3. Milam led off the inning with a home run over the left field wall. Then with Kling on second base, Tommy White doubled down the left field line to bring Kling home.

Bama refused to quick, as they would chase Little after a McCants homer. Griffin Herring entered the contest and allowed two more runs, as the Tide cut the LSU lead to 7-6 as we headed to the ninth inning.

LSU was unable to hold onto their one run lead. After Herring struck out the first two Bama hitters, everything went south fast.
Back to back walks and a hit batter loaded the bases with two outs. Alex Milazo fielded the swinging punt and committed an error on a bad throw to first base allowing two runs to come home, giving Alabama the win.
