LSU BASEBALL TO OPEN FALL PRACTICE PERIOD ON WEDNESDAY; ALL PRACTICE SESSIONS AND SCRIMMAGES WILL BE CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC BATON ROUGE, La. – The 2021 LSU baseball squad will take the field for the first time on Wednesday afternoon as the Tigers begin their six-week fall practice period in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. Due to concerns about COVID-19 exposure, all practice sessions and scrimmages will be closed to the general public this fall. “We traditionally welcome our fans to all of the fall workouts and scrimmages, but it’s simply not possible this year,” explained LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “We have an obligation to create a safe and secure environment for our student-athletes, and we appreciate our fans understanding the need for this policy.” Fall practice is scheduled to continue through November 10.
