Weil TUSCALOOSA, AL - LSU returned to play hoping to bounce back after Friday night's disappointing loss and that's exactly what the Bayou Bengals did, defeating Alabama, 6-3 to even the series at 1-1. Luke Holeman (7-3) earned the win as he returned back to Alabama to defeat his former team. Gavin Guidry entered the contest in the 8th inning and did a fantastic job, getting his third save of the season. Alabama took the early lead, plating a run in the bottom of the first inning. 1-0 Crimson Tide. The Tigers responded in the top of the second. Michael Braswell III started it off with a single. Steven Milam followed with a single to left field. Braswell and Milam advanced to second and third on a Paxton Kling ground out. Tommy White then doubled to left center field to score the two RBIs. 2-1 Tigers as the second inning ended. In the bottom of the fourth the Tide was able to push a run across home plate to tie the game at 2-2. LSU regained the lead in the top of the sixth. Ashton Larson led things off with a single to center field. Milam then singled to center field. Paxton Kling ended up drawing a walk to load the bases with two outs. Jake Brown came through with single to score Larson. 3-2, LSU. The Tigers would add to their lead in the seventh. Jared Jones led off with a single to left field, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Josh Pearson then singled to bring Jones home. Pearson advanced to second on a wild pitch to put him in scoring position. Braswell stepped to the plate and came through with a triple to left center to score Pearson. Another wild pitch allowed Braswell to score from third. LSU extended their lead to 6-2 as we headed to the bottom of the frame. The Tide was able to push a run across the plate in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to, 6-3. The Tigers entered the ninth inning with a lead for the second game in a row. But this time took care of business, taking the victory for LSU. With the win, LSU is now 32-19 overall and 9-16 in the SEC.
