BATON ROUGE, LA - Many of you know who Ron Sancho is... The younger generation may not. Ron Sancho was one of the best players to ever wear the purple & gold...  Period...   A four year starter at outside linebacker from 1985-1988, Sancho was a playmaking machine, always around the ball. A nightmare for the opposing offense.  He earned Honorable Mention All-American and 2nd Team All-SEC after recording 77 tackles, 10 TFL, and 5 sacks in 1988. Ron was selected in the 7th round of the 1989 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, but didn't make the team's final cut. A huge mistake by KC.  He went on to play for the Denver Broncos in 1990.

   The WLAF New York-New Jersey
Knights selected Sancho during the 2nd round of the league’s positional draft in 1991. He would go on to record a banner year for the team scoring three defensive touchdowns,  (recovering a fumble against Frankfort in the end zone, blocking and recovering a punt against Montreal, and returning a fumble 14 yards against the Skyhawks). The Knights went on to lead the league with eight defensive touchdowns that season behind Sancho's impressive season. He finished second on the team with 69 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 6 sacks. His nose for the end zone earned Sancho Second Team All World Honors in 1991.  Ron returned to the Knights for the 1992 season where he’d add another four sacks to his career totals, but the league under pressure from the NFL owners elected to suspend the operations of the WLAF.

Sancho retired from football in 1993 and currently owns his own company- Cardio Health Solutions LLC.

We have been truly blessed here at Da Boot Sports to have him as our publication's sponsor.

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Ron Sancho play football for LSU, please enjoy the video below that we created in his honor.

Thank You Ron! You're a great person and a true Tiger!
