6/2/2021 By: Terrill J. Weil Da Boot Sports BATON ROUGE: Looks like Arik Gilbert has finally decided to stay put near his home. The Marietta, Ga. product signed with LSU in 2020 before opting out late in the season claiming to be homesick as his excuse. After the end of the season he entered the evil NCAA transfer portal. He finished the 2020 season with 35 catches for 368 yards and two touchdowns. Gilbert would commit to Florida on January 31st, 2021 before changing his mind on the Gators a month later. Rumors began to surface that there was a chance Gilbert could return to Baton Rouge after holding talks with LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron, but nothing ever materialized. Comments are closed.
