By: Terrill J. Weil Da Boot Sports! The new CFP ranking were released on Tuesday with a change to the top spot. The Committee decided to move the Buckeyes of Ohio State into the #1 spot, leaping LSU. Clemson stayed put at three, While Georgia remained in the 4th spot, after defeating Texas A&M, 19-13. Rob Mullens of the CFP selection committee said Ohio State's defense makes them the more complete team. "Ohio State's been a complete team, and that win over Penn State was their third win against that we currently have ranked in the top 19," Mullens said. "Ohio State's been really good on both sides of the ball." "They're obviously both very good on the offensive side. This week the committee felt that that win over Penn State again solidified that Ohio State's a little better on the defensive side of the ball." The final CFP rankings , that will determine the field for the playoff, as well as reveal the New Year's Six teams is December 8. If both LSU and Ohio State win out, will there be another change at the top? LSU will host Texas A&M (7-4), while the Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor to face (9-2) Michigan. Comments are closed.
