Junior Defensive tackle Tyler Sheldon has informed the LSU coaching staff that he will opt out of the 2020 football season and prepare for the NFL draft. Shelvin was a driving force for the Tigers on defense during last season's National Championship run. The 6'3", 346 lbs junior totaled 39 tackles as well as three tackles for a loss. He is the fourth Tiger to opt out of the 2020 season, following DT - Neil Farrell, DB - Kary Vincent, and WR - Ja'Marr Chase... With Shelvin's departure, that leaves LSU with only five total returning starters from last season's National Championship team.
