Army had one last possession in the half. It ended with a Zy Alexander interception at the LSU 11 yard line on a poor Hail Mary attempt by Black Knight quarterback Champ Harris. Next LSU extended the lead to 48-0 on a 32 yard field goal by Damian Ramos on a short drive that stalled after moving 20 yards on 11 plays. After Army turned the ball over on downs for the third time in the contest, the LSU offense stayed in high gear as Nussmeier led the Tigers on a 13 play 60 yard drive, eating 8:20 off the game clock finishing with Noah Cain finding the end zone from two yards out putting the Tigers up, 55-0 with only 4:40 left in the game. Up 55-0 with 2:07 left, the LSU offense was still not done. The Tigers kept it on the ground, trying to run the clock out to end the contest, but true freshman running back Trey Holly had other plans as he took a hand off on third and seven from the LSU 33 and raced 67 yards for his first touchdown wearing the purple and gold. The electrifying run finished off the scoring on the night. 62-0, Victory for LSU! With the dominating victory the Tigers are now 6-2 overall and sit at 4-1 in the SEC.
