Da Boot Sports 3/7/2024 By: Terrill J. Weil BATON ROUGE, LA - The Tigers returned to practice early Thursday morning in their indoor practice facility. It was the first spring practice open to the media. We were able to view 20 minutes of some position and individual drills. Practice was crisp and fast paced as always. The quarterbacks look sharpe, especially Garrett Nussmeier who is expected to lead the offense in 2024. Rickie Collins, who took snaps with the second team looks to have improved on his accuracy and showed flashes of his mobility. Newcomer AJ Swann led the third team and it was great to see Colin Hurley on the field wearing #16. The running backs showed speed and quickness during their position drills. Kaleb Jackson and Josh Williams will lead this group into the season. Trey Holly was absent due to his legal situation. The wide outs worked on making cuts and catching the ball out of the break. Kyren Lacy and Chris Hilton look to be the leaders of this squad. The offensive line focussed of foot work and technique.. We spotted Will Campbell wearing #7 today at practice, representing his team honor. Campbell looks fast, agile and menacing. He's a hell of a specimen. I apologize for no defensive information. I'll focus on the defensive side of the ball on Thursday, March 21st, which is the next practice open to the media. Brian Kelly's post practice press conference, practice video and photos are below.
