BATON ROUGE, LA - On Friday, September 22nd LSU will unveil The Tiger Walk Display featuring former LSU offensive lineman Ruffin Rodrigue.

Ruffin Adam Rodrigue Jr. played at LSU from 1986-1989 and was a force on the Tigers' offensive line. He was named an All-SEC Lineman and helped lead the Bayou Bengals to SEC Championships in 1986 and 1988.

After graduating from LSU, he played for the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks of the World League of American Football until an injury ended his football career.

After his football career he became known for opening Ruffino's restaurant in both Baton Rouge and Lafayette.

Ruffin tragically passed away on November 24th, 2020 of a heart attack. He was 53.

Rodrigue's display which will be named 'The Tiger Walk Monument' will stand at the top of Tiger Hill on North Stadium Drive. The ceremony will begin at 10:30am.

Saturday's player walk down the hill will be dedicated to the memory of Ruffin Rodrigue.

"Ruffin was the guy who bled purple and gold and grew up wanting to play for LSU." said former LSU center Nacho Albergamo. "His dad played at LSU FROM 1962-64 and he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps and that's what he did. God Bless him."

"He's missed. No one else could typify being at that Tiger Walk more than him because he was truly a Tiger." Ron Sancho said. "He was a great guy. Not a day goes by that I don't remember him. God Bless him, his wife and his kids."

Once again the Ruffin Rodrigue 'Tiger Walk Monument' will be unveiled on Friday, September 22nd at 10:30am on top of Tiger Hill on North Stadium Drive where the LSU football team unloads off the buses to begin their Tiger Walk to Death Valley on game day.

What a great memorial for a great LSU Tiger...

A minor correction: Ruffin’s father began his playing career in fall of 1960. He was not on the LSU team in 1958. Both father and son had the hearts of champions.
