Da Boot Sports 9/20/2021 By: Terrill J. Weil BATON ROUGE, LA: Plenty breaking news to report from Tigerland today... We'll start with the bad first... Coach Orgeron confirmed on Monday that senior defensive end Andre Anthony will be lost for the remainder of the 2021 season due to a serious knee injury that occurred the first half of the Central Michigan contest. "What an outstanding Tiger, outstanding leader," Orgeron said. "We absolutely love him, he has a season ending injury and it's sad news. He was having a good season, he's gonna be unavailable but he's gonna be with us." Anthony is a sixth year senior who has been a leader on the defense for the past two seasons. He was having an All-SEC type of season thus far, with 3.5 sacks over the first two weeks, and then before his injury Saturday night, returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdown. No word yet on if this will end his LSU career or if he may try to land an medical redshirt and return. The League Office announced on Monday that LSU defensive end BJ Ojulari has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in LSU’s 49-21 win over Central Michigan. Through three games, Ojulari has recorded 4.5 sacks, which leads the nation along with Andre Carter (Army) and Jermaine Johnson (Florida State). The honor is the second of Ojulari’s career as he was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week last year for his play in LSU’s win over South Carolina. The SEC also announced on Monday that the LSU vs. Auburn game in Tiger Stadium on Oct. 2 will kickoff at 8:00pm and will be televised on ESPN. Coach Orgeron had his weekly "Tell the Truth Monday" press conference with the media on Monday. A video of the press conference is below for your viewing.... GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
